Britton Harris Collection (118), Planner, 1914-2005
Britton Harris was a recognized lecturer, author, and city planner that served as a leader in the field of computerized models of planning. He served as a Professor of City Planning, Transportation, and Public Policy as well as Dean of the School of Public and Urban Policy at the University of Pennsylvania. Harris helped pioneer the use of geographic information systems and consulted on several large international planning projects in developing countries.
This collection is comprised of the published and unpublished works of Britton Harris between 1949-2004. The collection highlights Harris’s focus on land-use development, transportation, and urban planning, as well as his interest in computer technology and modeling.
