Carlo Scarpa Collection (016), Architect, 1906-1978
Italian architect Carlo Scarpa created designs for glass and furniture but is best remembered for his beautifully crafted architectural designs. His works include the Brion-Vega Cemetery (San Vito di Altivole, 1970-1978) and the central headquarters of the Banca Popolare di Verona.
The four drawings in this collection document Scarpa's design for the roof terrace and staircase for the central headquarters of the Banca Popolare di Verona, begun in 1973 and completed after Scarpa's death by his collaborator Arrigo Rudi.
