Between 1918 and 1937, over twenty young Chinese students came to the Unviersity of Pennsylvania to study architecture, having been drawn to Philadelphia by charismatic faculty members like Paul Phillippe Cret.  They returned to China upon graduation to practice professionally, spreading out across the country and becoming leaders in the modern architecture movement in China.

This collection includes original student transcripts, biographical materials, copy photography, copies of clippings and yearbook pages, as well as other research materials for twenty-six students including Phyllis Whei Yin Lin (BFA 1927) and Shih Cheng Liang (B Arch and M Arch 1927).
