Leavitt, David L.

David L. Leavitt Collection (289), Architect, 1918-2013

David Leavitt received his bachelors in Architecture from the University of Nebraska and masters in Architecutre from Yale University in 1942, working each summer at Antonin and Naomi Raymonds farm in New Hope, Pennsylvania.  After serving in the navy during WWII, Leavitt worked at Antonin Raymond's firmparticuarly on the Reader's Digest Building in Tokyo.  In the 1950's, Leavitt started his own firm, mostly doing commissions in the New York metropolitan area.  Leavitt designed Manitoga, the home and studio of well known american industrial designer, Russel Wright in Garrison NY.

The David L. Leavitt Collection includes architectural drawings, project files, and personal and professional photographs from David Leavitt's professional practice.
