Hugh Ferriss Collection (295), Architectural Renderer, 1889-1962
Hugh Ferriss trained as an architect at Washington University in his native St. Louis, Missouri. Ferriss was a successful architectural renderer, known for a signature 'dark, moody' style. Ferriss published several influential books, including The Metropolis of Tomorrow (1929) that imagined the city of the future and the design changes that would be the result of New York City's 1916 zoning code.
This collection comprises one architectural design for Dilworth Plaza in Philadelphia, rendered by Hugh Ferriss.
